Riverina have taken out the McDonald's Country Colts title for the first time since 1988/89.
In a tense and low scoring final, Riverina defeated Central Coast by 25 runs. Batting first, Riverina scraped together 146 on the back of a fine innings of 52 by Angus McLay. Aiden Heath and Kaleb Daley did the damage with the ball for the Coast, each taking 3 wickets.
In reply, Central Coast got away to a flyer with Bryce Bush (26) and Zac Peters (33) adding 65 for the first wicket. From then on the Riverina bowlers applied extreme pressure, and backed by excellent fielding, the Coast lost their last 9 wickets for 56 runs, to be dismissed for 121.
Max Harper (3/38) and Rupert Lilburne (3/24) were the pick of the Riverina bowlers, with Lilburne named player of the final.
