The Bush Breakers have proved to be too good in the 2022 Country Invitational Tournament played in Albury from the 5th to the 11th April.

The teams competing were Queensland Country, Papua New Guinea, ACT and the Bush Breakers, and the competition format was a mixture of Twenty20 and 50 over cricket.

At the end of the competition, the Bush Breakers remained undefeated winning all 8 games and  finishing on 32 points, 14 points ahead of second placed Papua New Guinea.

Jodie Hicks (Riverina) was the best with the bat for the Bush Breakers, scoring 196 runs @ 49.00, while Jaclyn Vickery (Central Northern) and Abbey Taylor (Newcastle) both grabbed 12 wickets.

Alana Ryan (Western) was the leading keeper, securing eight dismissals (5 catches and 3 stumpings) , while Melissa Norup (North Coastal) took 6 catches.

Country Cricket would like to thank Cricket Albury Wodonga and the many volunteers for their support of the event, along with the assistance of Albury and Wodonga City Councils.

This year the following debuted for the Bush Breakers - Dharmini Chauhan (Greater Illawarra), Jodie Hicks (Riverina), Emma-Jayne Howe (Newcastle), Olivia Osborne (North Coastal), Abbey Taylor (Newcastle) and Naomi Woods (Greater Illawarra).
